Property Tax Bills Are Here

Important information on your property tax bill and payment.


Here are the steps to see your property tax bill online:

  • treasurer.mchenrycountyil.gov

  • click "Look Up/Pay Your Property Tax Bill (top left on side menu)

  • Search for your property

  • (You can also scan the QR codes located on the paper bill/statements)


Property taxes are due June 9th and the second payment is due September 9th.

(Late payments are charged a 1.5% penalty and then another 1.5% every 30 days after the due date if the payment is still late.)


Payment options:

  • Online

    • Digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo)-new this year

    • Credit/Debit card

    • PayPal Credit (but you have to qualify in order to use this way to stretch your payments out)

    • eCheck

  • Not Online

    • By phone (call 1-844-928-0420 and always write down the payment confirmation number)

    • In Person (at the treasurer's office 2100 N. Seminary Ave in Woodstock between the hours of 7:30 am and 5 pm on weekdays)

    • Drop boxes at the treasurer's office (must be check or money order made out to the McHenry County Collector, put in an envelope with your payment coupon)

    • By mail (sending payment and payment coupons to P.O Box 8730 Carol Stream, IL 60197-8730)

      • They ask no cash when mailing your payment. Please put the property PIN on the check. If mailing a payment within 5 days of the payment due date they suggest taking it into the post office so it can get postmarked.)
